    Not remotely the “Cottage with Jacuzzi” experience we booked and paid for.

    The rural location and surrounding natural setting were pleasant, and collecting the keys was straightforward. Unfortunately, these positives were completely overshadowed by serious problems with the accommodation itself.

    The cottage is advertised as “Etna Rural Cottage with Jacuzzi”, yet there was no hot water throughout our two-night stay, making the Jacuzzi completely unusable. To have a hot shower we had to leave our private cottage and use an external shared toilet/shower facility. We were told about the boiler problem only one day before arrival despite having a non-refundable booking, and we were not told that the “alternative shower” meant a shared external bathroom. There was also a large gap beneath the entrance door and we found a large spider inside. This was completely different from the private Jacuzzi accommodation we believed we had booked.

    Affascinante

    Posto incantevole, non facilissimo da raggiungere ma a maggior ragione perfetto per una fuga romantica. Il cottage in legno, circondato dagli alberi, con facile accesso ad un sentiero che costeggia un antico cratere etneo ormai immerso nel verde, la gattina affettuosissima che veniva a farci compagnia, l'aria fresca e profumata di vegetazione umida... grande! Molto carina la stanza, essenziale ma dotata del necessario (cucinino, frigo), confortevole il bagno con Jacuzzi, simpatico il "cielo stellato" di lampadine sopra al letto. Insomma un'ottima atmosfera. Il gestore ci ha portato uova fresche (delle sue galline) e latte per la colazione, insieme a biscotti e cereali.

    Manca un'insegna che indichi chiaramente dove si trova la struttura, si deve necessariamente telefonare per farsi aprire. E onestamente all'ingresso c'e' da fare attenzione a una cassettina con dei fili elettrici scarsamente protetta da una copertura precaria, sistematela!
