  Oh they gave me 50euros back as a cleaning fee— because the place was so dirty.

  Honestly, it was problematic from the start. The company that runs the place, also runs several other houses, so the employee who was bringing they keys was not there when we arrived and we had to return to our car to wait for him (we were traveling with small children and the entryway was in an alley with glass and trash on the street, next to a construction site) We had told them exactly when we would arrive, 3 times by this point— they first asked through booking, then we got an email to fill out extra forms (including all our identification information) which asked again, and finally on the day several text messages, including one asking us to text when we were 30 min away from the property—we answered all of this and texted as requested, but somehow we still had to text again to ask where they were, and then be told their employee would be leaving to meet us now by bike—he arrived 10/15 min after, and at no point did anyone apologize or even acknowledge this was not very professional. He was inside the house with us for less that 1 min. Got in, opened the bedroom door, saying he needed to check if they had made the bed then told us to call the number if we needed anything while literally already holding the street door open and he was gone. The following 5 minutes we texted the number to ask about the sofa-bed sheets. We are a family of 4. There is one bed and 1 sofa bed in the property. We were informed there was no bedding for the sofa bed in the house but some one would come to do the sofa bed. Okay. Not comfortable with this, as it implies people entering the property while we are not there but all our stuff is. But we had plans and we were already late because of the delay in checking in. So we agreed. There was once again no apology or acknowledgement that the sofa-bed should have been done. They were aware we were 4 guests, because of both booking and the extra information on the files they asked us to fill by email.

  After this I pushed the issue by message and asked if they were unaware we were 4 people and would need the sofa-bed, and was ignored, instead we were told they didn't even know when the cleaning crew would be able to go do the bed. We went to do our plans and didn’t hear back from them at all (the polite thing would have been to inform us, when the issue was resolved in the least) Alas when we got back it was 20:00 and thats when we discovered that the sofa bed had been done, but they hadn't left any pillows. There were 3 decorative sofa pillows small and flat with embroidered boarders and no pillow covers, which we had to use for the kids as when we contacted them again we were told nothing could be done at this point in time, and asked if we had looked in the cupboards or inside the sofa —empty also bizarre, as if they had been there they wouldn't have pillow covers either or be very clean— Ah yes, almost forgot the main issue of the property: It was dirty. Not lightly dirty, not a little bit of dust or a couple of stains— I’m talking full on spider-webs, sticky floors and a thick layer of dust on every surface. I had to physically grab a bath towel and clean the bedside tables and lamps plus the headboard in order to sleep. Poorly because of the incredible hot room (no aircon) and we had to keep the windows closed because next door was an active construction site. (Which also made the small varanda/patio on the property useless as it was covered in construction dust and dirt) I sent pictures of the state of the house to the person I spoke to, and he politely apologized and promised they would send someone to clean the next day (more people we don’t know around our stuff, yey). As you can probably guess, this didn’t happen, everything was exactly the same when we arrived at the property at 19pm after being out the whole day. Right down to the missing pillows. This time they simply didn't answer when I texted them.

  Superb apartment! It was fully equipped, the bed was very comfortable, and the unique decor gave it great taste. The location is excellent—near restaurants and shops, and it's only 15 minutes to Porto Central by quick taxi. Best of all, the host was very communicative and checked in to ensure we had everything we needed."
