  Pool was being shocked, according to the staff it happens once a week and puts the pool out of commission for 24 hours. We have a child with a disability that likes to swim and we paid extra over other hotels to stay there and were disappointed when the pool was out of order. Seems like if it is going to be closed for 24 hours weekly that would be mentioned somewhere. All doors other than the main entry doors were broken. Got two bottles of water and it cost over $7 when the cost said $3 in the snack area.

  I would stay there again.

  Hotel was right off the highway, clean and staff friendly. Breakfast area was clean and very nice. Mattress was comfortable.

  The front desk personnel was very sick. Coughing and sniffing. It was very disappointing when she is greeting everyone walking in. We were afraid to touch our key cards. On our way to our daughters wedding, the last thing we wanted was to get sick. Tell your employees to stay home if they are sick.

  I hope I would have liked it if I was actually able to stay in the room I booked and paid for.

  I booked a stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Scranton Montage Mountain and specifically chose this hotel because the rooms appeared more updated, comfortable, and modern, including the shower. I also purchased travel insurance for the trip and contacted the hotel ahead of time to let them know I would be arriving very late, around 12–1 AM. I received confirmation that my reservation was secured and that the hotel could accommodate my late check-in. When I arrived around 12–1 AM, I found the last available parking spot and went inside expecting to check into the room I had prepaid for. Instead, I was told that the hotel had overbooked by approximately 6–7 rooms and that there was no room available for us. I was then told they were aware of the situation and had arranged for guests to stay at their sister property, the Hampton Inn Scranton at Montage Mountain. I asked whether there would be a price difference or any adjustment since I had prepaid for the Fairfield and was now being moved to a different hotel. I was told that the price would remain the same. The employee at the Fairfield was very nice and professional, and I genuinely felt bad for her because I’m sure she had already dealt with multiple upset guests over the same situation. Unfortunately, being polite does not change how frustrating the situation was. I loaded all of our luggage back into the car and drove another five minutes to the Hampton Inn. Once again, parking was extremely difficult to find. When we entered, the front desk was empty, and an employee eventually spoke to us from a back room. I provided my name and reservation information and was simply told to take the room card from the table. The Hampton Inn room itself was extremely disappointing. It smelled musty, felt uncomfortable, and appeared noticeably outdated. This was especially frustrating because I had intentionally selected and prepaid for the Fairfield Inn & Suites based on the quality and appearance of its rooms.
