    Doux week-end...

    La possibilité de rester un peu plus tard le jour de notre départ car il n'y avait pas de location après nous. Notre ado a adoré la chambre cabane dans le jardin. Le lieu est paisible et enchanteur. Le fare décoré avec goût et tout en bois magnifique. La cuisine est bien équipée et fonctionnelle.

    Idyllic, with local flavor

    We stayed for a week at Fare Teak, a beautiful Balinese/Polynesian house in Maharepa, on the north shore of Moorea. The house is exquisite: filled with art, carved wood and natural textures, with sliding doors that connect inside and outside. It is set in a private garden with a romantic outdoor bed in a covered palapa. The location is a local neighborhood, offset from the busy belt road, so there are sounds of kids, chickens (roosters!) and yard work, but not traffic noise. The house has nice furniture, wifi, a very well-equipped kitchen and good hot water but does not have AC. Ceiling fans and breezes worked well for us in late September. The owners have other rentals nearby, and the shared saltwater pool is in a pretty patio a short walk away, partially along the main road. A mid-sized local grocery store and a pizzeria are also within walking distance but there is no place one can easily walk to access the ocean. We'd recommend a car to explore the coast and cafes around the island. Best of all, our host, Framboise, was wonderfully helpful, friendly and charming. We felt sincerely welcomed and supported in every way.
