    Beautiful Grounds and Location

    Lovely property in a great location on Marathon, but it ultimately didn’t suit our needs or expectations. What we liked: Excellent location with a beautiful marina area that’s perfect for strolling. There are two pools, plus a bar and restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were generally helpful. What didn’t work for us: None of the rooms have balconies. The restaurant is average at best. The biggest issue was the overwhelming amount of eucalyptus essential oil throughout the main building and the Parrish Cottage — it made our lips, eyes, and throat burn. We were ready to leave right after check-in, but management kindly accommodated us by moving us to the Parrish Cottage. The scent was still noticeable there, though more tolerable for our short stay. Even five days later, our luggage still carried the eucalyptus aroma. A big thank you to Cassie for going out of her way to make sure our stay was breathable and enjoyable. Overall it has a relaxed vibe, but it simply wasn’t the right fit for us.
