Really lovely, comfortable, clean and quiet place to stay.

First time we have been back in York in 26 years. The Annex was fabulous and so much better than an expensive hotel in the city that doesn’t have the personal touches. Met the host Sarah and her lovely little dogs on arrival and made to feel very welcome. Stylishly decorated, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Just off a main road but very quiet as tucked behind the main house. Fully functional kitchen and tea, coffee, milk ect supplied (although we did bring our own just incase) streaming services on the TV if you fancy a cosy night in. Met all of our needs and less than a 5 minute walk to a bus stop then a half hour bus ride into the city if you don’t want to drive in and park ect. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be staying again (hopefully for the Christmas markets) excellent.

Have absolutely no faults with the annex or the hosts everything was perfect. Just off a very busy main road and a little difficult to spot when driving up but this can not be helped and is no fault of the hosts, but once we found it the first time it wasn’t a issue for the rest of our stay.

Nice place to stay near York

Nice, clean place. We briefly met the owner who was very friendly. We were there for a wedding so didn't explore the surrounding area but it would be handy for visiting York.

Hard to spot the entrance. We knew this from other reviews but still just missed it so go slowly when you're getting close!

Very enjoyable stay. Good transport routes into York.

Located on the outskirts of a gorgeous village only 5 miles from York. The bus stop into York is only a five minute walk away, and a 20 min walk takes you to the pub in the village which had live music and served tasty food. The annexe is quite compact but the space has been very well considered and we found it had plenty of room for two adults and a dog. We enjoyed a comfortable stay and everything we could have needed (towels, kitchen equipment, cleaning products etc) was available. Although the property is next to a busy road, the traffic noise didn’t bother us one bit.

The weather was extremely warm over the few nights we spent here, making the bedroom area upstairs rather warm and challenging to sleep. However there were three windows upstairs which could be opened up to allow the cooler night air in. If I stayed here again I would consider bringing a fan with me.
