  El sonido de las campanas De la Iglesia. Retumbaban mucho en el dormitorio.

  No kettle or microwave which would be useful if you were staying longer and wanted to eat in the apt

  The apartment ended costing us close to a $1000 more than we paid for the room.

  The location was great. It has access to the Old Town and to lot's of great restaurants.

  This isn't the fault of the host, but the apartment is next to a church that the bell goes off every 15 minutes. If your trying to sleep in it doesn't help. One major complain is that the front door has a key. It needs to have a security code. I will explain below. On the day we were leaving which was at 4;30-5 AM. We were driving to Barcelona to catch a 10:15 plane. Plenty of time. But as instructed when leaving we left the keys on the dining room table. We were on the second floor. We took all are bags downstairs then we locked the apartment door behind us. Someone had locked the front door that you enter the building. Our keys were on the table in the apartment with the door locked. So now we are stuck in the hallway. I called the office number and of course no one answered. We sat there for about 30 minutes, hoping someone would be leaving or coming in, but to no avail. Finally I had the idea to call the hotel that we picked up the keys from when we got there. Fortunately someone answered and they said they would come over in about 10-15 minutes. Someone from the hotel did come open the front door. We now had lost a good 45 minutes to an hour. Then since the parking is nowhere close to the apartment it took about another 10-15 minutes to get to the car. Then we got going and of course we now encountered Barcelona traffic, which was very heavy. We did miss our flight. We spent the night in Barcelona and flew out the next day. So this is why an electronic pad to open the door would be ideal. We spent another $ 230.00 for the hotel in Barcelona and another $600.00 for the flight home, plus food . The room was nothing special. Yes it was clean but that's a low bar. The apartment isn't inexpensive , so for a five day stay it would have been nice to have coffee pods , if you have a coffee machine. Also the wall mount toilet was set up so high, that one would have to be 6' 5" or taller to find it comfortable.
