It’s a shame, as it would be a lovely place to stay if it weren’t for the electrical issues.
Great location. Spacious rooms. Everything you need is provided. It’s kept very clean.
The electricity was a major problem. When I arrived, the lights wouldn’t come on, so I had to use my mobile phone’s torch to find my way into the room. The main circuit breaker in the corridor had tripped; once I’d reset it, the lights came on. From the following day onwards, whenever I returned home, the circuit breaker would have tripped, and even after I reset it, it would trip again and again. As the power would cut out whilst I was out, I couldn’t use the fridge, and I had to give up on the meal I’d been looking forward to because the power would trip whenever I boiled water. It was a real nuisance having to go out into the corridor every time the power went out. The owner was on holiday, and although his parents came round, they were unable to resolve the issue. From another person listed as an emergency contact, we were told an electrician would come to repair it, but no one ever showed up. It’s a very nice place to stay, and if it weren’t for the electrical problems, I’d give it a 9 out of 10. It’s a shame I have to give it such a low score. ”Electricity” isn’t a special request; it’s the bare minimum required for a stay. Guests are staying there even when the host is on holiday or at the weekend. Just imagine: coming back tired every day after a day out, find the room pitch black, and having to go out to the fuse box outside the room time and time again until the power stabilises. It was extremely inconvenient and a real struggle.
