    Great base for visiting the region

    We stayed 2 nights in room 17 at Agritourismo Fontana La Pietra & were very happy with our stay in the countryside near to Pisticci.  Roberto was very welcoming & helpful on our arrival & the lady running the restaurant was also very friendly & attentive at breakfast times.  Our room was spacious, clean & comfortable, with everything we wanted.  We also enjoyed seeing & interacting with some of the animals on the farm, dogs, cats, donkeys & horses.  And we especially appreciated being able to check-in at 12 midday, as we were only coming from Matera & were keen to check-in, unload our luggage & head off sightseeing.  The location suited us perfectly for an afternoon visit to Craco on our first day & a full day self drive trip to Anglona, Tursi, Rabatana, Montalbano Jonico & Pisticci on our second day.  We would have loved to stay longer & explored even more of the region & enjoyed the facilities, like the pool, that we missed doing.   A great stay, highly recommended.
