  Perfect to visit NYC on a budget

  The apartment is old and quirky in the most charming way, and you can definitely tell that the owners are artists. It’s located about a 10–15 minute walk from the ferry terminal, which makes it a very convenient option for anyone looking to visit New York on a budget. The entire journey from the apartment to the main attractions in Manhattan takes around an hour, but considering the incredible price of the accommodation, it’s absolutely worth it. The bed is incredibly soft and comfortable, and both the AC and the fan help keep the room at a pleasant temperature. Paul is a wonderful host, friendly, talkative, and always available to help with anything his guests might need.

  I wouldn’t say that the place is dirty, but it would definitely benefit from a thorough deep clean, especially in the corners, where there was quite a bit of accumulated dust. The kitchen was great overall, although it would have been nice to have a better selection of pots and pans. The only pan we could find was very large, which wasn’t particularly practical for just the two of us. We also couldn’t find any proper drinking glasses, so we ended up using mugs for water. It’s also worth keeping in mind that the apartment is located uphill, so the walk back from the ferry can be a little tiring, especially after a long day in Manhattan. One thing we found a bit uncomfortable was that our bedroom door couldn’t be locked from the inside: it wasn’t a matter of not trusting Paul, but knowing that the door couldn’t be secured while we were sleeping didn’t feel particularly reassuring.

  Geht so

  Die gute Lage zur Fähre war sehr gut. Das Platzangebot hat auch überzeugt.

  Leider ist die Unterkunft sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Auch die Sauberkeit ließ Wünsche offen. Sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig war auch, dass sich die Dusche in der Küche befindet.

  Rappirt qualité/prix imbattable pour New York

  Le prix imbattable pour New York. L'emplacement à 5min à pied du Ferry gratuit de Staten Island pour rejoindre Manhattan. La possibilité de stationner notre voiture. Le logement n'est pas a Manhattan, et il faut 30-40 min pour rejoindre le sud de l'ile. Ce qui justifie le prix de ce logement 2 à 3 fois moins cher qu'à Manhattan. Mais nous concernant nous avons beaucoup apprecié le fait de devoir emprunter le ferry chaque jour et cela n'a jamais été une contrainte. Partir le matin en ferry vers Manhattan en passant devant la statue de la liberté, et de revenir le soir by night était une experience très sympathique et plaisante, ce qui faisait completement oublié que nous ne logions pas à Manhattan.

  L'ensemble est un peu vieillot et manque d'entretien. Le lit beaucoup trop mou. L'absence de climatisation. L'absence de rideaux opaques notamment dans la cuisine/salle bain
