A beautiful and imposing grand sandstone country house in the Dumfries area. A great place to stop off on the way to Ayrshire. Attentive and helpful staff, a lovely bar and restaurant making for a cosy and enjoyable stay.

Very good for an overnight thank you
Really useful with everything we needed. Very clean and nice and warm on a cold night.
The double bed mattresses - especially the one was not very comfortable.

We stayed in the 1 bedroom cottage which was very peaceful. Great comfortable bed and pillows. The walks along the river were beautiful.
The heating in the cottage wasn't great and it was a chilly night. Wasn't keen on the menu as not a fan of Japanese or fish . If returning I would bring food and cook .However maybe others would love what's on offer.

Astmospheric, old fashioned charming hotel with beautiful grounds
Beautiful grounds close to the River Nith; the public areas were very atmospheric
The bathroom felt a little dated but everything worked very well
