Beautiful room staff great but inn has gone dien in quality.

Stayed here 30 yrs ago. Beautiful but not so conducive to seniors as there are as many as 3 flights stairs which ate narrow. Food fair for breakfast but restaurant closed. Years ago both dinner snd fresh made breakfast outstanding. The mgr Betty and Assistant Josh are very accommodating. Miss the old place. Also please put in parking next to rooms in back so you can park and go to your 2nd floor room.

Best way to end a romantic anniversay trip!

When we entered the room for the first time we were pleasantly surprised at how large, yet cozy, & beautiful our room was. We saw the pictures they property listed but they really didn't do it justice. Our only regret was only staying one day! Included in our room was a real working fireplace with plenty of wood, 2 wood/branch super comfortable rocking chairs, a whirlpool tub, a large shower & 2 large sinks. Our room had a large covered porch with stairs that lead to the back of the property & nearer to the parking lot (that the front entry). On that porch was a set of nice chairs. Our room also had a neat feature - inside the bed/fireplace area there are real tree beams. It's beautiful! Also on the bed was a old style quilt to keep you warm, though there is back up electric heat!

The listing said there was on on site restaurant but did not clarify that it is only open Friday-Sunday, except for breakfast (a very small buffet). Being so rural, it would have been nice to have some options or make it clear on the listing so we can plan ahead. We overheard other guests say the same thing. This hotel is not a good fit for someone with accessibility needs. The entry & all of the rooms are upstairs & there is no elevator. The room did not have a microwave or fridge. There was a drink cooler & ice out in the hall room, but we would rather have our own in our room for medication, etc. The other thing I didn't appreciate is how they left a large white tent & chairs in the back yard (I assume for wedding ceremonies), which our porch & room directly face. It spoiled the beautiful view for sure. None of these things would stop us from returning!

We stayed at Friends Lake Inn hoping for a relaxing getaway, but this visit was very disappointing. Upon arrival, the hotel was completely empty — no staff at the front desk, no note or key left for us, and no response to calls or texts. After waiting, we had no choice but to find and check ourselves into an unoccupied room. Additionally, none of the usual amenities were available: the restaurant and bar were not operating. The next morning, a staff member admitted they had “forgotten” to leave a note, but no compensation or effort to make things right was offered. For a hotel charging this rate, this level of service is unacceptable. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway turned into a stressful experience.

Clean, perfectly nice room, though there was no soap and no real surface for putting things on.

    The breakfast was good.

Noisy people outside the room in the morning and evening.
