Excellent location within walking distance of all the main attractions. Communication with the hotel staff was easy and efficient, and all check-in instructions were provided on time. The apartment was modern, spotless, and very well equipped. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We truly enjoyed our stay and will keep wonderful memories of Funchal!

One sentence does not describe our disappointment
In a central location, ideal for shopping and sights. Clean. WiFi.
The square onto which 3/4 windows open is used day and night by groups of drug dealers, alcoholics and down and outs. During the day the buildings opposite are non-residential, they are commercial lets, on the square: restaurants/bar. So the only people this affects are residents on this side of the square. Groups constantly gather, at night they screamed and yelled at each other to 4 am, they dealt drugs and cooked food right under the apartment windows. Twice, when I sent the owner video clips he called the police. It’s a gathering place for Funchal’s men and women who live on the margin of society. The owner said they were harmless. We paid close to €700 for a totally sleep-deprived week. Also A municipal high pressure water cleaning van is in action to 22.30, at times placed right under the apartment windows with two municipal attendants hosing down the square and the alleyways nearby - they shout instructions at each other and the driver; the noise from this van is excruciating. We had stayed in this apartment last year - no issues of this type. The owner offered us a deal - next year - on another central property. A gesture, yes. As we explained - we don’t mind normal city noises but these issues were insufferable. On one occasion I was followed into the local supermarket by two of these men who pestered me to pay for their wine boxes at the till. The cashier called security.
