Lovely welcome from Sam & my Irish friends loved their bedroom & the history behind Gales.

All good except lack of parking for 2 days.

Knowing that parking would be a problem when I booked.

A very lovely old hotel. Very little in the way of modern conveniences and no breakfast included in room price but staff were very pleasant and attended to issues as raised. Good food served in the attached wine bar. A very pleasant overnight stay

There were a few maintenance issues with my room which I pointed out to a staff member in the wine bar over dinner. She looked into them but was not able to rectify any of them. That said, none of them were life changing (dead lightbulbs etc). There are a lot of stairs and no lifts - it's an old building so if accessibility is a thing for you this place is probably not the place for you. After the lovely dinner, and for the price, would have appreciated breakfast in the morning.
