  Maison de vacances du bonheur

  Tout était parfait et même encore plus. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille. La maison est parfaitement équipée dans un cadre magnifique. Nous nous sommes sentis à la maison. Les attentions à l'arrivée sont particulièrement appreciées. un bonheur de découvrir des douceurs locales et d'avoir des boissons fraiches. Excellente communication, agréable et efficace. Merci pour tout !

  Lovely base for our visit to the Peloponnesian peninsula

  Beautiful location a short drive out of Nafplio. We felt like we experienced the famed Greek hospitality, as our friendly host shared many excellent recommendations for groceries, sites to see, and restaurants as well as leaving us water, juice, and a snack. As we came here straight from the airport, this was much appreciated. The kitchen was the best-stocked of any vacation rental I have ever stayed in, in the US, UK, and now Greece. We had everything we needed, as well as a pantry with many spices and other extras. Plenty of towels and extra bedding were available in the wardrobes. This was a quiet and convenient place to stay as a base for day trips by car all over the Peloponnesian peninsula, and we would definitely stay here again!

  As Americans visiting Greece for the first time, I'm trying to think about unexpected things that might be informative for Americans trying to decide between this home and staying in a hotel in Nafplio. The beds were much firmer than any American bed. We were so tired after busy days of sightseeing that we fell asleep, anyway, but some would find them uncomfortable. This home is very small, and the outdoor space is really where a larger group would want to spend their time. As we visited in a cool, drizzly week in mid March, we were not able to take advantage of the patio as much as I'm sure other guests do in warmer weather! We didn't mind staying inside on the rainy afternoon during our stay, and I honestly think most Europeans would think nothing of it, but I imagine some Americans expecting to rent a house in order to spread out would find it cozier than expected. Our 19 year old was sleeping on the couch/day bed in the dining area, so we were all hanging out around and on his bed during the evenings. We still preferred this to multiple hotel rooms. Finally, the water heater is solar heated, which became an issue for us on the cloudy days. As a family of seven (with four teenagers used to showering daily!), we ran out of hot water most days. There is a boiler you can turn on, which we definitely had to do, but even so, a few of us had to take cold showers. This was really the only downside for our family, and I imagine it is not a problem in hot, sunny weather!
