    A true Japanese garden villa steps away from Ryoan Ji temple

    We had a magical two-night stay at Denshin-An. The house was peaceful and beautifully curated, with the Japanese garden as the highlight—it truly felt like stepping back in time. Morning walks and bike rides around the neighborhood gave us a lovely glimpse into local daily life, away from the usual tourist experience. Yu-san’s warm welcome made the stay even more special. (we enjoyed the Yakiniku place!) A perfect place for a family of four looking to slow down and experience a more authentic side of Kyoto.

    Exquisite Japanese home with a charming private garden

    A very charming, traditional Japanese home with a beautiful garden. We were welcomed very warmly, given good recommendations and well taken care of. For someone in a rush to do Kyoto highlights at a blazing pace, the house may feel at a distance to the central highlights. But for those who want to complement the authentic ancient aura of the city with the exquisite feel of a well-kept and well-designed traditional Japanese home, I can think of no better place to stay than Denshin-An. If you want to immerse yourself in true Japanese Omotenashi in the privacy of your own quiet, beautiful stay, then you need to look no further. You’ve found the place.

    This beautiful home perfectly balances timeless heritage with modern comfort. The traditional interior feels like a meticulously curated museum, filled with exquisite artifacts and furniture pieces, yet thoughtfully modernised with every fully functional amenity we needed. It gave us the precious vibe of living inside a piece of history, wrapped in the warmth of a traditional home, featuring transitional wooden veranda space. Our host was truly exceptional. Approachable and deeply attentive to our every need. He watched over our stay with the utmost kindness, ensuring we felt completely at home. Deeply appreciated the host and the personnel’s selfless hospitality and care.

    Dieses sanft renovierte, elegante Haus war ein Höhepunkt unserer Japanreise.

    Ein wunderschönes Haus, in dem Japan authentisch erlebt werden kann. Auch der Garten ist eine Augenweide und die Gastgeber sehr zuvorkommend. Wir können dieses Haus sehr empfehlen.

    Das Haus liegt in einem Wohnquartier, es ist schön ruhig, aber an manchen Abenden hatten wir Mühe, ein offenes Restaurant in der Nähe zu finden.
