  Extremely disappointing condition - we could not stay in the apartment

  It is difficult to describe how disappointed and shocked we was after seeing the apartment that we had booked for an entire week. The photos attached to this review partially show the condition of the property when we arrived. I came to Milan with my family, including our two-year-old child, expecting to spend a pleasant week together. Unfortunately, from the moment we entered the apartment, I realised that the reality was very different from what we had expected from the listing. The kitchen was in an unacceptable condition. All six chairs were dirty, stained and torn. The carpet, which appeared to have once been white, had become dark grey from dirt. Surfaces and items in the kitchen felt sticky and dirty. It was not a place where we could comfortably prepare food, have breakfast or even sit down for a morning coffee. The bedrooms were no better. The bed linen and towels were extremely worn, with frayed and damaged edges. The headboard was covered in a thick layer of dust, as were the lamps and surrounding surfaces. For a family travelling with a small child, this level of cleanliness was simply unacceptable. I immediately contacted the woman who had handed us the keys. Although we had previously been able to communicate in English/Spanish, communication suddenly became very difficult. When I asked whether she had seen the dirt and how anyone was supposed to sit on those damaged and dirty chairs, she said that she was not aware of the condition and acknowledged that the kitchen was not in an acceptable state. We decided not to stay in the apartment at all. This was not a small issue or a minor inconvenience. The condition of the property was so poor that we had to urgently find and pay for another apartment in Milan for our family. We informed both Booking.com and the property management company about the condition of the apartment. However, nobody offered to properly clean it, provide alternative accommodation or offer another meaningful solution.

  The perfect spot to explore Milan, close to great restaurants and very comfortable

  It was a great base to explore Milan. Spacious and cool with great facilities.
