Beautiful Property, but Absolutely NOT Worth the Price — Extremely Disappointing Experience For nearly $3,000 for a four-night stay at Garza Blanca Cancun, I expected an exceptional luxury, all-inclusive experience. Unfortunately, what I received was nowhere near worth the price. I stayed at a Riu resort just a month ago, paid a FRACTION of what I paid here, and received better service, a better overall experience, and honestly, even a prettier beach. That alone says a lot. Let me start from the beginning. I booked this trip to celebrate my daughter’s 16th birthday. Upon arrival, I was unexpectedly charged an ADDITIONAL $600+ because my 16-year-old daughter is apparently considered an “adult” at this resort. Yet somehow, she’s not considered an adult when it comes to participating in certain resort activities, such as the sherbet ice cream-making class, because she isn’t old enough. So which is it? She’s an adult when it’s time to charge me more, but a child when it’s time to enjoy the amenities? Make that make sense. On top of that, they required a $900 hold on my card. Between the original cost, the additional charge for my daughter, and the hold, that’s an outrageous amount of money to have tied up for a four-night vacation. The resort also advertises complimentary activities such as paddleboarding and snorkeling. Those were some of the amenities I was looking forward to, only to discover they weren’t available during our stay. Why advertise experiences that guests can’t actually enjoy? And here’s something that absolutely blew my mind: YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR INTERNET AND EVEN TO ACCESS YOUR OWN STREAMING ACCOUNTS! Imagine spending nearly $3,000 on a supposedly luxury all-inclusive vacation, only to find out that internet access and the ability to watch Netflix or other streaming services using accounts YOU ALREADY PAY FOR come at an additional cost. At this price point, these should be basic amenities, not another opportunity to charge guests.
