    Cool period hotel.

It was a quaint and cozy time warp into the 1900's where with just a little imagination you could hear the voices and smell the morning coffee. The staff were very helpful. The hotel is conveniently located a block away from Main Street and across from the railroad museum.

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It started with a cup of coffee that had coffee grounds floating around the edges...it was not a good night for the restaurant...'nuff said.

Beautiful historic charm, but disappointing upkeep for the price.

One of the highlights of our stay was how incredibly comfortable the bed was, making it easy to relax and get a great night's sleep. The hotel was also pleasantly quiet, which we really appreciated. Upon arrival, the staff was welcoming and friendly, giving us a great first impression. What truly makes this property special, though, is the beautiful historic charm, especially the downstairs interior. The decor feels like a step back in time, with so much character and attention to detail. It's definitely worth visiting just to experience the atmosphere! Another plus was the parking, plenty of spaces available, easy to access, and no hassle finding the hotel. Overall, the property has a unique charm that sets it apart from your typical hotel.

While there were definitely things we enjoyed about our stay, there were also some disappointments that made us question the value for the price. We stayed in Room 208, which unfortunately felt quite dated and in need of some attention. It almost reminded us of staying in Grandma's upstairs guest room, which had a certain nostalgic charm, but not necessarily the comfort or upkeep we expected from a hotel. The bathtub was especially disappointing, as the bottom was black with grime and there was visible hair, making it unusable for us. We chose not to request housekeeping because we didn't want to spend part of our stay waiting for someone to clean something that should have been taken care of before check-in. There were also several minor maintenance issues that seemed like simple fixes but had been overlooked. What made this more disappointing was seeing a neighboring room being cleaned that looked absolutely beautiful and immaculate, leaving us wondering why there was such a noticeable difference in room quality. We also had an unusual interaction with an employee who was sitting in the downstairs lounge area. She never introduced herself as staff, and after we explained that we were simply looking around, she later called out from the bottom of the staircase, "Hey, that's for guests!" The interaction felt awkward and unnecessary, especially since we were registered guests. Overall, we enjoyed aspects of our stay and appreciated the hotel's historic character, but the room's condition and a few uncomfortable moments took away from the experience. For the price we paid, we expected a little more attention to detail. While we're glad we experienced the property, we probably wouldn't choose to stay again.
