    Our best stay in Italy. Super Host and Hostess. Close to train and several excellent restaurants

    We did not have breakfast per se, but the hostess filled a jar with breakfast crackers and melba toast and a variety of spreads that made a great bed time snack and a quick something to eat in the am. Also had a coffee maker for great expresso each morning. Super clean and well appointed kitchen if you decided to make dinner. Vanessa and Gennaro where the best hosts I have ever had. It was more like staying with a relative. Tons of suggestions on what to do, how to get around by train. She was extremely responsive to every and all inquires. The layout of the apartments is great for staying to your self or interaction with other guests that share the kitchen. Train station is about a 3 minute walk. (Gennaro met us at the station and helped my wife with her bag the first night!) I would stay here again if I came back to Salerno.

    I really cannot think of anything that there was not to like. Parking is a little tough , but you are in Italy. The hostess pre booked parking for the 2 days I had a car. It saved alot of time and hassle. Another example of the real kind and personal service we received.

    The apartment itself is very clean, well-maintained and nicely decorated. However, it may not have been entirely clear from the listing that the reservation was for a room within a standard two-bedroom apartment rather than for the entire property. Based on my understanding when booking, I expected to have exclusive use of the apartment. Had this been clearer, we would likely have chosen one of the nearby properties offering an entire apartment for a similar price. The accommodation may be suitable for a family or a group of friends travelling together, but we found that the available space and level of privacy did not fully meet our expectations. The property is located at basement level and includes an indoor surveillance camera, which may be important information for future guests. While sitting on the terrace, a passer-by from the sidewalk threw a cigarette butt that landed near our feet. Of course, this was not the host's fault, but it made the terrace feel less enjoyable. Despite these points, it is evident that considerable effort has been put into creating a welcoming and attractive space. However, due to the difference between our expectations and the actual accommodation, we chose to move elsewhere after the first night.
