Not good, not terrible: great for groups on a budget

We stayed here as a group of seven and had a very good overall experience. Communication with the management company was friendly and quick throughout our stay. The check-in instructions were clear, although slightly elaborate. The apartment is in entrance 15, but you need a key tag to get into the staircase and use the elevator. The key tag is collected from a lock box at entrance 17, and the apartment itself opens with a code on the door handle. Once you understand the system, it works smoothly. The apartment was heated at all times, which we really appreciated, and the bathroom was well stocked with shower gel, soap and toilet paper, all available as needed. Clean towels were provided for everyone in the group. The location is good even if not right in the center. It is about a 20 to 30 minute easy walk to the city center, and there is a tram and metro stop nearby. The area has plenty of restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. The building is vintage, with an interwar style interior that adds a lot of charm.

On the downside, and whether these are deal breakers depends on the guest, there were several issues. Other reviewers had already mentioned the bathroom doors, and nothing seems to have been done about it. The door of the small bathroom does not close fully, and the sliding door of the large bathroom feels a bit unsafe. None of the wardrobe doors work properly, they are all broken or dysfunctional. The tiles on the floor are chipped, which gives the apartment an unpleasant look. The listing photos seem to date from before the renovation, because everything now looks old and worn. The beds were the biggest problem. None of them is in good shape: they squeak badly and the mattresses sag so much that you feel like you are sleeping in a hole. If you spend all day out in the city and only come back to sleep, the other issues may not matter, but it is hard to get proper rest with these beds. The kitchen is very basic. There is only a toaster and a kettle, no coffee machine, very few utensils, and not even a wine opener. You will find some plates, knives and glasses, but not much more. Cleanliness also left something to be desired, with dust under the beds and furniture. Would we come back? Definitely, if you are a larger group and do not want to spend a fortune on accommodation.
