    The Notenbank is in an excellent location, very close to Weimar’s old town and its main sights, all within easy walking distance. The accommodation itself is housed in a historic former bank building, which gives it plenty of character. One particularly memorable feature is the wonderfully old-fashioned lift, which is apparently around a hundred years old. Having to open and close its doors manually made every trip up and down a charming little experience. The Bachzimmer is small but also a cosy and interesting attic room with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It includes a kettle, a small refrigerator and some basic tableware, making it convenient for preparing tea or having simple ready-to-eat food. The large rooftop terrace is also a lovely place to relax.

    A few small improvements would make the room even better: the bathroom could use some additional hooks for towels, and a full-length mirror in the room would be very helpful.
