    Clarens Weekend Away Review

    The accommodation was generally clean, with comfortable beds and fresh, clean linen. - The garden was beautiful, and the views from the chalet and parking area were lovely. - The glass doors allowed plenty of natural light into the unit. - The location was central and convenient.

    - Septic tank odour: An unpleasant and, at times, unbearable smell from the septic tank was noticeable at night and spread into the accommodation. The toilet’s position right next to the seating area made this particularly uncomfortable. - Accessibility and safety: The parking area was far from the chalet, making it difficult to carry and offload luggage. The uneven paving, unstable bricks, slippery slopes, and poorly paved driveway also raised safety concerns and made access inconvenient. - Braai facilities: The braai area was uncovered, making it difficult to braai during rainy weather. We used the garden umbrella - Missing amenities: No mop was provided, making it difficult to keep the unit clean during the stay. - Wi-Fi connectivity: The Wi-Fi repeatedly disconnected at night, affecting its reliability. - Security: The gates did not lock properly, which raised concerns about the security of guests and their belongings. - Listing accuracy: The photographs gave the impression of a single property, whereas the accommodation consisted of three separate units in one location. Clearer photographs and a more accurate description would help manage guests’ expectations. - Hospitality and presentation: The cleaning staff could improve their customer service and friendliness. The complimentary welcome drink would also be better presented in a properly sealed bottle

    It was exceptionally great 🔥

    It was clean with a fully stocked kitchen for self catering. The beds were comfortable with water bottles and electric blankets to keep warm considering the weather
