  A spectacular introduction to Serbia — authentic and unforgettable!

  What an incredible place to spend my first night in Serbia! The property is spectacular, full of traditional Serbian character, with outstanding views of the surrounding countryside. It was spotlessly clean, and the whole experience felt wonderfully authentic. Communication with the host was excellent. They came by in the evening to collect payment, and although the listing says there is no Wi-Fi, there actually is, and it worked well! The secure parking behind the gate was also perfect for my motorcycle and sidecar. Being autumn, most of the village residents had already left for winter. I was the only guest, and with the owners living off-site I got a little nervous! Especially with so many dogs barking outside, but when I messaged the host quite late, he promptly reassured me that everything was fine. And he was absolutely right. Despite that challenge, I am so pleased I chose this property for my first experience of Serbia. It was a memorable introduction to the country's rural culture and beauty. I would happily return, and I can only imagine how spectacular it must be in summer when the village comes alive again!

  **One important note for anyone traveling with a dog:** There are numerous free-roaming village dogs, some traveling in large packs. The summer house owners leave them behind for winter to fend for themselves. Most seemed friendly, but there was a female in heat attracting a lot of male attention, making it impossible for me to safely walk my own male dog around the village. Unfortunately, this meant I couldn't comfortably stay another night. This is absolutely no reflection on the property or its owners, but something worth knowing if your dog needs regular walking exercise.

  Stay somewhere else

  The apartment was reasonably clean, very quiet, and the views from the property are nice. None of that made up for the difficulties we had (see below).

  The photos did not match the rooms at all! There was a spiral ladder -- NOT STAIRS -- that was VERY hard to climb, impossible to carry your suitcase to the bedroom. The host didn't respond to the booking, and if a helpful neighbor hadn't been there we would not have been able to get into the apartment! When we talked to the host she pretty much said she wouldn't be able to come let us in! We found the WiFi code by accident, by exploring around the property. There's no cell signal so calling for help would have been impossible. The induction hot plate had no instructions so we never got it to work. There's a vent hood but the cord doesn't reach any outlet so it can't be used.
