  A great stay in a cosy home

  A warm welcoming home in a great location . Well stocked kitchen if staying in for meals - plenty of cutlery / crockery . Plenty of indoor & outdoor games provided.

  Nothing we didn’t like . If you have younger children or some mobility challenges the different levels of rooms downstairs may prove interesting .

  Brilliant stay for a large group

  Property was fantastic with plenty of room for our group of 8 adults and a toddler. We were staying for a family wedding in Bakewell and the reception at the Peacock at Rowsley which was conveniently directly across the road. Check-in was easy with the door code provided in advance, brilliant communication from the hosts and they looked after really well and messaged during our stay to make sure everything was okay. Nice outdoor seating area with plenty of room for at least 4-5 cars on the drive. Very accommodating of a child - travel cot, blankets, toys, swingball set etc provided to keep him entertained. Overall brilliant property and a great location. Plenty of storage, towels, essentials provided which was a nice touch.

  The outdoor areas were a little overgrown so could do with some maintenance there. Some areas of the house were quite dusty, but generally for a property of its age the condition was still great. The addition of a removable stair gate for both sets of stairs would be something to consider to help with safety for children staying.

  Great location and beautifully furnished. Everything we needed for a great family weekend. Ideally located near Chatsworth. Very comfortable beds.

  We had an enjoyable long weekend in a lovely part of the country. Beautiful walks, lovely places to visit and friendly p

  A beautiful, older property set in a lovely part of the country. Plenty of space for us and the dogs to be together or chill out separately. Food and drink left by the hosts was greatly appreciated after a long, hot drive. Great walks accessible from the door which the dogs loved. Having small things like dishwasher tablets, coffee pods, tea bags available is so helpful.

  The bins being too near the outdoor table when eating. A couple of minor issues (incase owners not aware) The blind in the front bedroom was not working (would have lifted it further for more light) and couldn’t open the window to catch the breeze despite the exceptionally hot weather. The bathroom near the twin room - door handle comes off in your hand on the inside and unable to lock the door.

  3 generations of family all enjoyed this accommodation and the surrounding area - great for a short break!

  Full of character and space. Modernised sympathetically and maintained many original features. Well equipped and comfortable.

  Only down side was some road noise.
