We had a lovely time, the service was great. Really enjoyed the restaurant, our meals were excellent.

I loved the cabins and the indoor fire.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the property.

Extremely disappointing, it should not be called a retreat as it’s far from that , 2 star max.

Dinner was served cold, cold steak is not nice, curry had no flavour, it was very disappointing, and very bland. Breakfast wasn’t any better, with the price of the rooms being so high, breakfast should have been so much better

Everything , we left a day early as we couldn’t sleep in the uncomfortable bed another night, it was so hard . In a response to a review 2 years ago, the owner stated they were in the process of replacing all of the beds. Apparently that is still ongoing. I have slept on Tatami mats in Japan that were softer. The cabins are in desperate need of an upgrade. When the switches are yellow from age, it’s a fair guess that nothing has been spent on them in a very long time. In 2026 it is quite unbelievable that wifi is not available continuously in the rooms. It is only sporadic coverage at best.

It was a great place to stay in, nice cosy cabin with a cute fireplace.

The frozen dinner was not great - the butter chicken was very watery and not very butter chicken tasting. Dinner in the restaurant was great.

    More firewood available to buy.
