Guest house Básar is set on the island of Grímsey, which is accessible either by airplane from Akureyri airport (Norlandair.is) or by ferry from Dalvik (Vegagerdin.is). The guest house is located at the airport next to the arctic circle and it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the ferry at the harbor. A deposit may be required at the property.

    We were picked up from the harbour, which was super nice as 3 out of 4 of us had horrible seasick from the ferry. The host was super friendly. The facility was very good. We didn't have problem with the share toliet/bathroom and they were normally free when we wanted to use them. Puffins were just steps away and the island is just amazing!!

    If you are going to Grímsey, I highly recommend Guesthouse Basar for your stay.

    The house was extremely clean and beautifully located, walkable to every spot on Grímsey, and very close to the seabirds. The host was so kind and helpful. Breakfast was good and the coffee was excellent.

    Cannot think of one thing they could do better.

    Great welcome and Puffin watching

    Host met us at harbour from ferry holding a name board...a wonderful welcome to Grimsey. Then driven to property. Very close to Puffins!
