Excellent stay except for the arrival day.
Very clean and new. Julia is exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Uber driver drop us off at the Main Street. We couldn’t call the reception and had to carry two heavy luggage up the stairs to reach the entrance. Should have warned us to make sure we are drop off at the side road and not the main road.

Villa Scalaria is clean convenient and within easy walking distance of old city sights & restaurants
Location was very good being close to the port and the old city. Walking distance to the port facilities, fish market, green market, restaurants, etc. all very positive and walking the old city was very pleasant and charming.
Unfortunately it is situated right on a corner of a main road leading to the city centre. The curves appear to attract typical enthusiastic motor cycle and sports car (with modified mufflers) driver set that are only to happen believe they are in the Grand Prix at all hours of the day and night. Villa Scalaria does not provide breakfast; however they have negotiated a 10% discount with Hotel Ambassador across the street for a buffet breakfast which looked really excellent however 80 Euros for breakfast for two is somewhat pricey and, if you are Canadian, exorbitant. In addition the hotel receptionist appeared to be suspicious of the discount coupon and treated us like we were persona non grate!!
