Convenience of the location to metro
We had a problem during our recent stay at Hampton Inn on King Street in Alexandria, VA. During our stay the power went out for over 21 hours with no reasoning or sympathy from the staff. No additional accomodations at another hotel, nothing. There is no excuse for this. Need to know what can be done to fix this problem we had. We were in Alexandria celebrating our 25th anniversary. We have stayed at this same hotel numerous times and never had this issue. Also they put us in a room that stinks of mildew. This may have something to do with the dehumidifier leaking all over the carpet. If any member of the management staff would walk into this room # 607 they would smell what I smell. Please let me know what can be done. I dont think we should have paid for the room for Sunday night since we had no power. We would even take a voucher for another overnight stay at any other hotel. Please make this right for us. Thanks.

Great location, worn down facilities
The location was excellent and the staff was very polite and helpful. The rooms are big with all the basic amenities included.
The breakfast is very low quality. everything wrapped in plastic and the food was not good. For the room, the windows will not open which meant that unless the AC was blasting, the room smelled bad. I was lucky to get a new room after the first night but the same thing happened. Also the cleaning staff did not empty the dehumidifier. Otherwise the facilities are quite old and the price is quite high.

Friendly, clean and consistent in a great neighborhood.
The staff is always friendly and welcoming at this location. The full breakfast is standard fare but it is fresh and well stocked. I love that it starts at 6am--great for people who have to get on the road early! I appreciated the coffee maker and refrigerator in the room as well as the generous supply of bottled water. The Hampton Inn is our 'go to' hotel when stopping over somewhere for a night or two.
Usually the beds are fine at this location but our mattress was definitely worn out--too soft with a dip in the middle! Time to replace a few of these.
