We stayed at Happy Nest at the back end of Winter it would be good to return in Spring or Autumn
The location for those who want to get away and live for a few days up in the hills surrounded by nature,it is an ideal spot. Meeting the owner was fascinating and all the artistic development he has done over the years (and is still doing) to create three unique places to stay.
I love having a wood log fire, but getting it going in the morning when it is 2 degrees and you don't want to get out of bed is a challenge. :)

Loved everything! You can tell how much love and care Kim has put into the property and the houses. It was truly a beautiful place to stay, the fire by the bed was extremely cosy and the views from the living area upstairs were beautiful and perfect for stargazing.

Happy Nest - really is a wonderful experience!
Kim (the owner) was wo deeful - we arrived heavily raining & cold - he prepared the wood burner earlier & so thankful to walk into a lovely warm place. The accommodation was a little quirky(fun), beautifully built with huge glass windows that overlooked the forest & mountains. Even had the resident chook come & visit outside in the rain. Totally off-grid, the fresh mineral water was such a great change! The main bedroom, kitchen & bathroom downstairs & living area upstairs with single bed. Steps are steep. Even had a hammock too! Such a beautiful, creative place enjoying the treasure of off-grid living! Thankyou Kim for you wonderful hospitality!! 😃
Steep steps may be issue for some, but everything you need is on the first level anyway! Enjoy!!
