    Disappointing. Would not return.

    Room was comfortable and bathroom was decent.

    Staff communication was atrocious. Arrived at the hotel in dead set silence, struggled through the door and not even an attempt from the staff to stand up and help. Nobody else was around, they weren't on the phone... they just stood and watched us struggle! Then we needed to TELL them we were checking in, as if that wasn't already obvious?! And saw a sign saying the spa and swimming pool facilities are unavailable. Well that was the whole reason for booking this place! "Oh we messaged you beforehand" - well no, you definitely didn't. In fact you sent an automated email asking if we wanted to pay £20pp extra to USE the facilities. I got the feeling that the staff are fed up of being in the firing line of an organisation who don't care about them. The room itself was comfortable and quiet enough. But it was overpriced for what it is, and the complimentary gin seems like a nice touch except the decanter was so disgusting that it put us off even opening it!

    Spa weekend with no spa

    The bed

    Booked a spa weekend. With no spa. Came from newcastle so had already paid for hotel and booked flights then find out spa was closed. Total waste of weekend and money
