    Unresponsive and uncaring

I contacted this hotel with a view of booking a day pass for my husband and myself to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Initial e mails were quick and responsive, answering my questions and telling me what to do next. I should point out that when initial contact was made, it was around six weeks before we would arrive. A payment request was sent, but it would not let me submit the form. I tried several times. So another message was sent explaining the problem. To my complete surprise the reply i received was totally unacceptable. It went on to say day passes couldn't be booked until 14 days before and to contact them when that date had arrived ! Now no mention had been made of this previously at all. The day passes were for our special anniversary to be spent at what we thought was a lovely hotel with excellent facilities to enjoy. My reply email did not get a response, so I guess that says it all. Unresponsive, uncaring and diabolical customer service.

    A beautiful, calm hotel.

The hotel is immaculate. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. A sort of 'Ralph Lauren holiday home decor' style. The grounds are gorgeous. Everything is laid out well, and everything is close to everything else, front desk, pool, restaurant, beach. The house reef has so much aquatic life that snorkeling there every day was a complete treat, wtihout even going any where. However, some days, a trip on the dive boat awaits. The Dive School are very professional, and the boats and equipment are in excellent condition. Whether diving or snorkeling, we were very carefully looked after by the superb, caring and knowledgeable staff at Ocean Adventures. It is a little expensive. You get what you pay for. The ony drawback, I would say, is that if you want to go to a restaurant out of resort in the evening, it is either a dark long-ish walk, or you have to get a cab everywhere. The front desk will call you a cab, and the cabs are excellent, but it is not so easy as walking everywhere. I would not have thought that this was a great place for young children. There was one young child whilst we were there. (The 'give-a-toddler-a-phone-with-music-on-loud-in the-restaurant-and-don't worry-who-we-disturb-whilst-WE-eat-brigade'). There isn't much for children to do, and whilst there are high chairs, the place isn't really set up for them. My only issue is that service in the restaurant was haphazard, prone to mistakes and very slow.

    A DREAMY RESORT

Perfect getaway spot, a dreamy resort with elegant architecture and a layback vibe. I can't think of a single negative. It has its own little sandy beach (a novelty in Bonaire where the shores are rocky) and the snorkeling in this little area is pretty good. The room was spacious and well put together. The staff is uniformly polite and take their time to answer questions. It is not cheap but I felt it was worth the money. It was not full when I went in August so I can't speak to how it is in high season.

Excellent Stay at Harbour Village Beach Club

The resort was beautiful. The room was spotless and well appointed. The restaurant's food and ambiance was superb! We loved watching the fish at dinner - the lights in the water really added to the scenery!
