The Worst Experiences You Can Have in Austria
Cheap. After staying here, everyone else seems friendly. You get the strange experience of actually missing those infuriating AI customer service bots. You get to test your patience.
Could any hotel have worse customer service than this one? I still can't believe it. Situation 1. I arrived at the address but couldn't open Booking.com messages on my phone. There was no sign or name by the doorbells, so I called to ask where the entrance was. He snapped that he had over 150 hotels: how could he know who I was? I gave the Hotel name listed on Booking.com. He asked if I could see the green door, said it wasn't difficult and he didn't understand my problem, then hung up. Still without instructions, I got in when someone came out. I only had a key box number in the message preview. Imagine searching for your room with 3 suitcases in a building with a broken lift. I got in drenched in sweat. I later found their check-in instructions on my laptop. I was angry, but let it go: the phone issue was Booking.com's. Situation 2. They'd offered luggage storage after checkout and promised details at check-in. None came. I messaged, but still had no reply by checkout morning. I called with no hard feelings. He brought up the day before, repeated the 150 hotels claim, said he didn't understand my problem and hung up. Only then did I react emotionally too. I wanted to know if I could use the storage they'd offered. He shouted, "You can't use it! OK?!" and hung up. Who could accept that without an explanation? He just had to ask my name or booking reference and answer my questions. Guests neither know nor need to know about your 150 hotels. So what? It's a shame I can't share the recordings of those rude phone calls with you. I returned the key to the key box and checked out on time. Yet he claimed I hadn't returned it, as if that explained refusing storage. But he'd refused before checkout. He later found the key. Still no apology. I'm writing for other guests. The restaurant and shop staff I met in Austria were professional and kind. Avoid this place.
