A blissful end to an amazing road trip
I'm so pleased I booked this as my very last stop on my road trip back down from Scotland. It delivered on all levels and I felt welcomed and cared for. A stunning room for a very good price. If passing this way again I wouldn't hesitate to book in at the same price. An extra special welcome by Lily the sweet little cat here. Interesting to know that the first telephone call to an underground site was made from the drawing room here. I also bet there were some raucous parties here in the 1920's! Beautiful peaceful gardens here. I even saw the deer family David had told me about (apologies if I got your name wrong)! I enjoyed the beautiful room very much. Michelangelo's next door was a short stroll away, but be sure to get there well before 9pm, or phone as I did to make sure they were still open (it says last orders at 9pm for dining but being off season you should check this). I was enjoying the gardens and room so much I lost track of time! That says it all x (They were prepared to make up a collection for me so you could try phoning through first as I did, but I wanted to dine there really as I had earlier for lunch. The seating outside would've been lovely on a warm enough Autumn evening.
The only thing I'd suggest is a more aesthetically pleasing tray in the room, to complement the overall look of the room as it brings it down a little. It felt a shame to put a blue plastic tray in such a well decorated room. No issues at all : )

Delightfully quirky in a good way - so much nicer than generic hotel chaina
Quirky, friendly host, location next to restaurant, location to access northumbria roads on my motorbike, electric gates so no-one could steal my bike, nice shower
Maybe nice to have a breakfast option but they did it at nearby restaurant. Slight icing on cake might be posts to chain motorbikes to - we are very paranoid - but electric gates and well lit carpark so probably not necessary
