  Lovely property and location, but an extremely uncomfortable and overpriced stay

  At close to $4,000 for two nights, this stay felt like an absolute rip-off. While the house itself was lovely and the beachfront location was amazing, the overall experience fell well below what anyone should expect at this price.

  There were no basic welcome items or even a small snack pack, and the only coffee provided was cheap Aldi pods. More importantly, the standard of cleaning was unacceptable. We found hair in our bed, dust throughout the house, and cups that needed to be washed before we could use them. The balcony accessed from the main bedroom also appeared to be blocked shut. From the outset, we were made to feel watched rather than welcomed. Before arrival, we received a message confirming our check-in time while warning us that CCTV would monitor our entry and advising that the owner lived only a few doors away. We later received another message asking when we expected to leave and whether it would be before the already very early 10:00 am checkout. Cameras were also directed toward the pool area, which made using it feel uncomfortable. We had hoped to enjoy early-morning and late-evening swims, but signs at the property stated that the pool could not be used before 9:00 am or after 9:00 pm. These restrictions were disappointing and unreasonable for a private house being rented at this price. The most inappropriate part of the stay occurred at exactly 10:00 am on checkout day. While we were still rushing to gather our belongings and leave, the owner simply walked into the house and allowed the cleaners to enter. There was no reasonable grace period or respect for our privacy. We were also instructed to empty all the bins despite paying such a substantial amount for only two nights. We felt so uncomfortable throughout the stay that we spent most days and evenings away from the property and essentially returned only to sleep. The house and beachfront setting have enormous potential, but the poor cleanliness, intrusive monitoring, restrictive rules and inappropriate checkout experience completely overshadowed them. At nearly $4,000 for two nights, this was absolutely not worth the money, and we would not return.

  Don’t take people’s money if you’re not prepared to accomodate them because with booking.com when u cancel a booking it

  Nice view but horrible experience.
