charming apartment in a great location, some important improvements are needed to justify the price
Check-in: Very smooth and punctual. We were welcomed by a lovely lady who explained everything clearly and was very responsive throughout our stay. Location: Excellent, very central, with plenty of things to see and do right on your doorstep. Private courtyard: A charming little outdoor space with a large table, perfect for enjoying a meal, a morning coffee or simply relaxing. A really nice feature! Character: The apartment has a distinctive, personal feel, which we enjoyed. I particularly loved the high ceilings. Coffee: We were delighted to find Bialetti moka pots, as these are exactly what we use at home. A proper morning coffee is essential for us! :)
Fridge: This was by far our biggest disappointment. The fridge is extremely small and basic, barely practical for two people, let alone a larger group. It couldn't even accommodate a bottle of water or wine properly, and there was no freezer compartment. This makes it difficult to store fresh ingredients, prepare meals or simply enjoy a chilled Aperol Spritz in the courtyard. For an apartment with a kitchen and such a lovely outdoor space, a proper fridge really should be a priority. Street noise: Although the central location is a big advantage, all bedroom windows face the street, which can be quite noisy at night. Sleeping with the windows open was not really an option, and we ended up using earplugs. Stairs and safety: There are a few unexpected steps near one of the bedrooms and on the way upstairs that are not particularly visible, especially in the darker hallway. Each of us had a moment when we nearly missed a step, which was a little unsettling. Some simple markings or better lighting would make a real difference. Kitchen and living area: The kitchen and living space are combined into one rather small room, with only a small table and two chairs. There is no separate living room or comfortable communal area, which makes the apartment less practical for a group wanting to sit together, eat or relax indoors. Rubbish collection: We were informed that a city collection worker would ring the doorbell daily to collect the rubbish, as waste disposal in Venice works differently from many other cities. Unfortunately, this did not happen once during our three-day stay, leaving us unsure where to dispose of our rubbish. We had a pleasant stay and appreciated the apartment's charm, central location and welcoming check-in. However, we all agreed that the apartment is overpriced for the level of comfort and facilities currently offered.
