A blissful escape😊
We loved everything about the Hideaway, it really lives up to its name! Sitting on the balcony, unseen by passers-by, overlooking the beautiful Nidd River and viaduct is just heavenly. Though we were very, very lucky with the warm & mostly sunny September weather. Alex & Ralph have created a delightful little haven of tranquility, in what is probably a very popular area in the summer. We only had time to try the super-friendly Black Mulberry cafe downstairs once, but we can highly recommend it. Yummiest scrambled egg, crispy bacon & sweetcorn fritters for brekkie! We regularly use holiday rental apartments, both in the UK, and Europe, The Hideaway is without a shadow of doubt, the cleanest and most well-appointed accommodation we've found so far, and the fact the owners are on hand, (in fact Alex greeted us on arrival) is very, very rare... but appreciated 👍
Not a dislike, but an extra warning. One of the steps up to the apartment is a noticeable different height to the others, despite prior warnings by other reviewers (and the property), I was too busy chatting, missed the step and bruised/grazed my leg quite badly. So take care, don't be an idiot like me 🙃 Another thing to note, the bed is a double - not a king (there's not enough space for a larger bed).

The location is amazing. The best view of the viaduct in Knaresborough! Surrounded by cafes and eateries of which our favourite was the Black Mulberry, whose staff were extremely helpful (Dot was lovely). Rowing boat access below the apartment. Train station a very short walk away. We had a wonderful time 🙂👍
The bed was a bit too springy, which meant me and my partner tended to disturb each others rest throughout the night.

Fabulous views and relaxing.
The bed was a standard size bed. I prefer a king. But that's just me. Also I did feel like it could do with a new mattress.

The apartment location was excellent, the cafe below, The Black Mulberry, was excellent, and Dot was so nice and helpful. The setting of the place is so picturesque, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we'll be back again soon
No negatives, just had to be mindful of the corner of the building at the top of the steps to the apartment as its quite low if you're tall
