  Michelle - Hiding Space Bath

  The apartment is perfectly located right in the centre of Bath Spa. It was very clean and very spacious.

  There was really nothing not to like. Like many places though, it does not have a lift or air conditioning, but everything else was excellent.

  Sadly disappointing and not worth £956 for 4 nights, I did reserve and pay later so there was a slight increase in costs

  Excellent location - however could do with triple glazing due to noise levels mainly late at night as our ‘superior’ suite was located directly above a bus stop. The bathroom was clearly fairly new and spotless, the kitchen obvious fresh and new (except for the fridge, milk stains and dried milk in fridge door). Thankfully beds were spotless, had pillow case and mattress protectors insitu and were comfortable. Amie was very attentive, understanding and apologetic regarding issues mentioned below (she also kindly arranged for one of the workmen to carry our cases to the property up the stairs and to our room as I had suffered a recent back injury, I was extremely grateful for this and the gentleman concerned), Melanie attended the apartment to address my concerns and was very pleasant and understanding (I might add that she mentioned a previous similar complaint but since then no other contact). I should add that three small bottles of wine and a birthday card were kindly left for my daughter’s birthday on arrival, presumably because I had complained prior to arrival that within less than 48 hours of my payment been taken. (Still a kind gesture). I was then advised of the disruption of painting and decorating being carried out in the building. we were assured that this would be carried out between the hours of 10am and 5pm, but we did have to negotiate equipment on the landings and we weren’t the only people to notice this, other guests commented.

  Our superior suite was not what I would call superior. Please don’t be fooled by the stunning photographs. As previously mentioned the bathroom was beautiful, but no toilet roll holder or sanitary disposal bags, (in fact no toilet rolls in the apartment on arrival) the kitchen obvious fresh and new. All other items of furniture were damaged, chipped, marked, discoloured and/or wobbly, appears to be ex-display furniture or if not, just very well worn. Walks were marked. Skirting boards damaged and looked grubby with chipped paint, flooring was badly damaged and needs sanding and sealing/finishing. The apartment was dusty, shelves inside cupboards dusty, saucepans stained, cups dirty, bottle top on floor behind bin, so clearly not a good standard of cleaning being carried out not checked by domestic supervisors. Lack of quiet closers on doors mean that you are woken early by apartment doors banging and no sound proofing. No signs were visible, requesting clients to consider that others would most likely be sleeping at 7am!, however the corridors and stairwells were being decorated whilst we stayed so I’ll concede that maybe they have been removed for this work to be carried out. Toilet rolls were available as were extra teabags and coffee etc., in a cabinet at the end of the corridor however toilet rolls weren’t replenished on Monday, so we had to leave the apartment after a busy tiring day to purchase toilet rolls. Please note Tesco extra store on the ground floor of the same building as the apartments do not sell toilet rolls! All issues were brought to the attention of office staff on our return to the property, albeit in the early hours of the first day, as we dropped our bags and attended activities booked on arrival day. As previously mentioned, staff were polite, understanding and considerate, but obviously could do very little about the situation.
