An ideal place and way to experience the joys of Dorset's heartland
Delightful owner who went out of her way to assist in every conceivable context. She even offered to and did drive her car with ours to show us the nearest electrical charger, made delicious sandwiches at our request and gave my wife a ride on a pony. Fabulous country and excellent walking from the doorstep.
There are no criticisms at all. Except beware (and this is no fault of the owners whatever): there is a shortage of fast elective chargers in this area of Dorset!

Absolute Joy
Absolute joy at Higher Melcombe Manor. As a cyclist I was looking for not only a central location for exploring the beautiful Dorset countryside but also the opportunity to escape to a peaceful and tranquil location. In addition to the stunning landscape that surrounds the property I could never have imagined the sincere and welcoming experience that I received. Simon and Nicky are incredibly kind and generous hosts and their home is not only steeped in history but also has a warm country charm that I truly enjoyed after a long day of riding. The local village has a beautiful pub and a country shop that will satisfy your culinary needs both formally and otherwise. An unexpected treat was being able to play guutar and sing in the lovely chapel. I did not want to leave.
Nothing.
