Disappointing Experience, Definitely Not a Luxury Resort
The location and grounds were nice.
We booked this hotel expecting a higher-end, luxury experience and were honestly very disappointed. We specifically chose to spend more money on a nicer hotel, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t come close to justifying the price. Our first impression wasn’t great. It felt like absolutely everything came with an additional charge. For starters, luggage carts aren’t available for guests to use unless you pay for bellhop service. Having access to a luggage cart seems like a pretty basic amenity, especially at a hotel marketed as a luxury resort. Instead, we had to make multiple trips carrying all of our luggage up to our room. Parking was also an expensive additional charge, which I feel should be included for paying guests, especially at this price point. On a positive note, the woman at the front desk was very accommodating and honored our request for a higher floor, which we appreciated. The view from our room was also beautiful. Unfortunately, the room itself was a different story. The moment we walked in, we were hit with a strong musty smell, almost like a combination of mildew and stale cigarette. The room was extremely humid, and even the bedsheets felt damp. I’m not sure if this was related to being on a higher floor, but it made the entire room feel uncomfortable and unclean. The room itself also felt dated and dingy. It just didn’t have that fresh, clean, crisp feeling you expect when paying for a higher-end hotel. Despite all of this, I probably wouldn’t have bothered leaving a negative review until what happened the following morning. At around 8 AM, we were abruptly woken up by housekeeping. The employee knocked very quickly and then almost immediately opened our door, giving us practically no time to respond. We were still asleep. About an hour later, the exact same thing happened again.

Never again
On beach
Staff was rude beginning with Valet. Check in decent but "upgraded for a fee" to a room that didn't work for us then moved us to a room that wreaked of mold and mildew. No food available on site on a holiday weekend. Again staff rude at restaurant. Oh and no counter amenities either. Resort!?!?
