Refurbished old buildings authentically furnished with modern conveniences added. Hosts very obliging and beautiful rural setting.

For me as a mobility challenged elderly solo traveller a few inconveniences made this not a suitable stay eg toilet in separate building to the "Scrubcutters Hut" but hosts were very helpful and I would recommend to younger travellers.

Super comfortable and relaxing place to stay.

The property is everything it claims to be. A real step back into an iconic NZ time. So quiet. So relaxing. Really enjoyed our stay. Lighting the fire in the old range was lovely and made the place cosy. Drive in is interesting with step gorges.

You have to same something negative so people know it’s a real review. Had trouble starting fire (yes a townie) until I found the stash of kindling. After that no issues.

A very comfortable place with lots of historic touches to make it feel special. Things like bone China tea cups and lovely woolen blankets gave it very old world feeling. The horse over the fence was a bonus.
