The property is an absolute gem. An atmosphere of total peace and warmth. The home, the hosts, the setting, wandering around the gardens, chatting by the fire, the history on the walls in the reception room. Beautifully styled and spotless.

Nestled in the spectacular foothills of the Manawatū, this boutique lodge is perfectly appointed to reconnect you with nature — and it does exactly that from the moment you arrive. The setting is lush and serene, with birdsong as your soundtrack and greenery as far as the eye can see. Manawatū100% Pure New Zealand The bed is simply extraordinary. One of those rare ones you sink into and don't want to leave — deeply restorative sleep in the truest sense. We woke genuinely refreshed, which is a gift in itself when travelling. Breakfast on the deck was the perfect start to the morning — a warm croissant and coffee with nothing but birdsong and that beautiful landscape to soak in. No rush, no noise, just pure serenity. This is not a soulless hotel — it is a real place, with warmth and genuine character, and you feel it in every detail. Jan, Dave, and the Stewart family have created something truly special — a tailored and unforgettable experience. If you need to slow down, breathe deeply, and remember what rest actually feels like — this is your place. We will absolutely be back.

It was amazing
The host was so accommodating and lovely.
We would have loved access to the kitchen but it is a lodge so I understand that there are risks involved with doing that.
