Beautiful outside, but unclean inside.
The location was ok and the hotel looked beautiful from the outside.
The hotel visit was a quick one night visit. At arrival, the man in reception did not give a welcome, and looked rather miserable and un- interested. We collected our keys and it was a bit of a struggle climbing stairs with travel bags, small children and an elderly grandma. Upon entering our room, we noticed a red stain on the bedsheets. Clearly, cleaners had not changed the bed covers. In addition, the two mugs near the kettle had stains in them. The bathroom, was dirty, with the shower flooring brown and looked unclean. The sink was filthy, with brown stains too. The bed was comfy, minus the loud music coming from another room. The man at reception, did not give us details about parking and we had to return to enter our car registration on the screen. In addition, when we enquired about breakfast, looking annoyed , he assured us that it was £14 and could be paid in the morning. We agreed to this, only to return in the morning and be informed by another colleague, that it now cost £16. I did complain and to the lady manager’s credit, she gave us the original £14 price, without any hassle. Breakfast, had a decent selection of full English, with fruits, croissants and yogurts, juices and hot drinks. Kids, ate for free, which was a bonus. Overall, we did not have a good sleep and unfortunately will not be returning. The hotel looks beautiful from outside, but is unclean inside. It is a real disappointment, as we have stayed at other Holiday Inn locations, with brilliant customer service and clean rooms.
