I love London, but this hotel was a huge disappointment.
The hotel is very well located, within walking distance of Oxford Street and Regent Street, with several Underground stations nearby, making it easy to explore London. The breakfast was also enjoyable, with a good selection of options to start the day.
My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. When booking a Standard Room with twin beds, having two separate beds is apparently not guaranteed. Despite specifically requesting twin beds, upon arrival I was given a room with a queen-size bed. For a hotel with over 300 rooms, the only solution offered was to add a small foldaway bed. Even though I was willing to pay for an upgrade, no alternative was available. I immediately raised this issue with the staff at check-in. They told me they would try to find a solution the following day but could not guarantee anything. The next day, I sent a WhatsApp message expressing my dissatisfaction, but this also failed to resolve the situation.I eventually spoke to a manager, who offered me a refund if I preferred to leave and stay at another hotel. However, this was not a realistic solution, as I could not find any available accommodation in the surrounding area. I was travelling with my mother, and having to find another hotel in the middle of our stay was neither practical nor reasonable. I expected the hotel to provide a suitable solution rather than leaving us to find alternative accommodation ourselves. The room was already small, and the additional bed made it almost impossible to move around comfortably. The space was so cramped that we couldn't even remove the chair from the room because it wouldn't fit through the narrow doorway. Furthermore, the hotel is clearly outdated and poorly maintained. Doors and skirting boards are chipped and damaged, the carpets are dirty, and the bathroom is old-fashioned, with a faulty shower and green corrosion visible on the plumbing. The air conditioning only blew cold air. We were told that the heating was centrally controlled, but it never worked during our stay. The old windows provided virtually no thermal or sound insulation, and I was woken up several times during the night by noise from the street. To make matters worse, the lifts were switched off at night.
