Nice place to stay in Whistler with some hicups. Hopefully only a one off.
The property is located in a quiet part of Whistler and the apartment faced the forest, which made it very private and relaxing. The apartment overall was very clean and well taken care of. The kitchenette had everything that was required to prepare a meal and the complementary coffee, tee and hot chocolate was a nice touch. We were also very close to the lost lake walking trail and there is a bus stop right across the street where a free bus will take you to the village every half hour late into the night, The property is very secure with entry codes for both doors and elevators, The unit came with one secured underground parking spot.
There were a couple of snags with this resort. Number one was lack of heated water. Most of our stay did not have heated water due to boiler issues, thus we could not bathe, or shower unless you like ice cold water. Number two was the hot tub, which could not be used during the evening due to a lighting problem. Number three was discontinued use of BBQ's due to a bear in the area. I can understand about the bear danger, but maybe let the guest make their own choice, at their own risk. Bears are always around Whistler. Not sure why you can't use a hot tub without light. In case of the boiler it sounded like it was a planned boiler exchange, but for some reason the back-up boiler did not work properly.

Spacious and well equipped appartments in a quiet corner of the town.
Spacious appartment at the end of the town, next to the forest and hills. Well equipped kitchen, large bathroom and comfy bed. A parking sport in the underground garage is a big plus, as parking in Whistler is not easy. There's a bus that takes you downtown every 30 minutes if you don't want to walk about 20 minutes. The bus was free of charge and ran all day into late night. Very convenient.
Way too many times did I have to type and re-type the numeric code... to enter the appartment, to access the elevator, to open the garage, to access the gym. About 8 digits each time, and in two days I must have mistyped it at least 5 times. Quite a nuisance. I'd suggest an NFC opener either with a fob or the cellphone, or a fingerprint. The other issue we suffered; smokers. Hardly Horstman House's fault, but I think there was not much enforcement either. Sometimes the smell was unbearable, in the hallways, in the elevator.
