I booked a standard room with a window and a flat ceiling through Booking.com. However, upon arrival, I was given a room under the roof, with a sloping ceiling and a large, dark exposed wooden beam. The room felt cramped and oppressive, and the unusual layout had a significant psychological impact on me. I spent one night there and felt unwell the following morning because of how uncomfortable and oppressive the room felt. I went to reception to explain the situation and ask whether I could move to a different room. I was told that no standard rooms were available and that the only alternative was a higher-category room requiring an additional payment. They offered to move me there for just one night, meaning I would have to spend the other two nights in the original room. I explained that I had not booked this type of room and that the sloping ceiling and massive dark beam made the space particularly uncomfortable for me. I felt that offering me one night in a better room at no extra charge would have been a reasonable gesture of goodwill and compensation, especially as I needed to rest properly before continuing my journey. Unfortunately, the hotel did not offer a satisfactory solution that would allow me to feel comfortable and get the rest I needed. My main concern is that the room I received was very different from what I had expected when making my booking, and the hotel’s response did not make me feel that my concerns were taken seriously. I recommend that future guests clarify the exact room layout and ceiling type before booking, especially if they are sensitive to small or sloping spaces.

Clean comfortable hotel in great location!
The staff were very friendly and helpful! The hotel is located in a great area, walkable to everything. Lots of great restaurants nearby and two minutes to the Capitole on foot! The hotel is very clean and our room was a good size with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. We would stay here again!
