Coral Grief. Unacceptable Conditions, Bad Safety Concerns, and Absolutely Not Worth $300 a Night.
What did we like? We liked getting out of there after one night. The staff was nice and the only thing that got us through the night was the bed was comfortable enough.
I rarely write reviews like this, but we were so disgusted by this property that we checked out after just one day. For $300 a night, you expect a clean, functioning room. This was an absolute joke. One caveat, the staff were friendly despite the situation. Check-in area was unprofessional—the lobby was chaotic, and someone was yelling at a football game on TV behind the desk. Once checked in, we found out the elevator and the laundry facilities were completely out of order. My wife is currently dealing with a torn hamstring, so climbing the stairs with luggage was painful and difficult. Because we couldn't wash our clothes after over a week of traveling, we had to resort to hand-washing clothes in the bathroom sink. The room itself looked like it hadn't been updated or properly cleaned since 1985. We found what could be mold by the AC, filthy woodwork, a microwave covered in old food grime, and a shower that barely trickled. Worse, there were major safety hazards: exposed wiring under a broken tub panel, a bed propped up on a block of wood, and a massive 4-inch lip on the sliding door track that we kept tripping over. There was even a dirty washcloth tied around the ceiling fire sprinkler. Hallways were no better, with overflowing trash piles that looked like they'd been ripped into by animals. If management had just been honest and emailed us about the broken elevator and laundry ahead of time, we would have cancelled. Instead, we were completely blindsided. I operate a 9.7-rated short-term rental in Kona, so I'm well aware of the effort and cost it takes to run a property. I don't demand luxury when I travel, but I do expect basic sanitation and safety. When we packed up and left early, management didn't care at all and refused to offer any sort of refund or compensation. I have photos documenting all of this. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.

Overall a pleasant stay. We love the views and bring so close to the water.
Love the location and the staff.
Pillows need up grading and both rooms we stayed in had either a toilet or a tub issue. Nothing serious, but it made the hotel feel a little run down. No screen on our slider either.

A very relaxing place, a beautiful view
This is a quiet hotel. Even though it is between the highway and the beach, you don't hear road noise because the ocean noises block them out. The view from the room is spectacular. I recommend 2nd or 3rd floor for the view. You look out over the water.
The highway in front is very busy during the day. Luckily the drivers in Hawaii are very nice and stop to let you in.
