It is important to keep in mind that foreigners are exempt from paying taxes on accommodations services. In order to apply for this benefit, it is necessary that at the time of check-in guests show their passport with the entry stamp to Colombia that indicates their stay in the country for up to ninety (90) calendar days and that it has the PT stamp or the Current temporary visa type “V”. As they are exempt, this condition can only be verified at the time of Check-in at the hotel, where you must provide your original passport and a copy of the sheet with your data and the sheet where the stamp is located will be taken. Colombians who live abroad may apply for exemption by presenting their passport with the respective entry stamp into the country at the establishment. Remember to request it from Immigration upon arrival even if you enter by biometrics. The exemption is only for accommodations, it does not include other services and the invoice is generated in the name of the passport holder and the reservation.
