Pont-en-Royan is beautiful and interesting. I would love to return but I’ll stay somewhere else.
The bar staff were excellent. The display of bottles of water from around the world was amazing. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent with very local dishes.
The mattress was less comfortable than other hotels I have stayed in recently. The shower flooded all over the bathroom floor. Breakfast was not up to expectations for 14€ per person. At 8.30 a.m. (breakfast open until 9.30) I had the last yogurt, the wholemeal baguette had been finished, there was a toaster but no toasting bread, the grapes in the fresh fruit selection were going bad. Apparently there was more food if one asked but we did not know that. The man behind the breakfast bar only replenished food on request.
