Hotel du Pont Vieux is our choice when next in Carcassonne
Hotel du Pont Vieux was a great choice for our stay in Carcassonne. Conveniently located a short walk from the old walled city, the hotel room was small but comfortable. The hotel manager and his wife were wonderful hosts, making us feel very welcome from the time of our arrival to our departure several days later. The secured onsite parking (which must be booked for in advance) was an absolute bonus as parking around the city is very limited. The buffet breakfast available on site was more than sufficient and was a great start to the day. The view from the hotel's 3rd floor terrace looking up at the walled city at night is simply sensational.
The stairs to the hotel rooms on the 1st and 2nd levels and our heavy travel bags were not the best of friends but we considered it a very small price to play for visiting such a beautiful part of the world.

Fantastic location, wonderful roof top views, unfortunately the weather didn't allow us to sit out in the garden but that's nature. Friendly helpful staff who also allowed us to store our bags on check out. Highly recommend

Great value small hotel in perfect location
Perfectly situated just outside the city walls in a street full of restaurants and bars. Owners were friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms had everything we needed. Great value for money. We would highly recommend this hotel.
